hi
i got a parking ticket today...
i was at my friends house in metro housing
all the parkin lots were full, many by cars that havent moved for months
so i parked in front of two cars, both belonged to my friends family
and in front of my car was another friends car,
it was parked in front of a dumpster
now the part the i dont understand is why i got a parking ticket for blockin a fire route. there wasnt any sign showing it was a fire route. the only sign i saw was far behind me in a tunnel.
now im gonna go fight this ticket...
is there any thing i should know before i do??
and what do you guys think about all this...
i swear one day im gonna kill a cop...
probably the parkin enforcement ones..
fat bunch of useless bastard

parking enforcement are not cops, lol, they are parking enforcement officers and only considered peace officers under the criminal code for assaults, which sounds like you want to do, lol.

Take pictures of where you parked and fight it, it'll likely be dropped or reduced, but you still parked illegally as it was not a spot.

fight it, whats the worst that can happen...

^ since it's about "fighting in the court".. so im thinking in the "law perspective"..
altho u parked illegally, but who has proof? yes, the officer "saw" it, but he didn't give you a ticket for THAT, so, no proof!

similarly, i remember hearing that the court ignores ALL ways of getting evidences that is brought upon in court ie: spy cam video.. recordings.. pictures..
the court only cares about what the evidence has to contribute to the case, but not how one got the evidence.

i might be wrong, but just logically thinking about the idea of it...

the pictures is under the best evidence rule, put forth your best evidence each judge on his own will decide if its eligable or not. a picture showing no signs where you parked and you saying how did i get a ticket for parking in a fire route....when i was not told this is a fire route, may be plenty to have it thrown out.

whats the fine anyways?

Since you said you parked in the aisle of the parking lot, it is considered a fire route since by parking there there may not be enough space for an emergency vehicle to get through.

its a $100 fine...
and there was alot of room probably enough to fit 2 cars
if it was a $10 or even $30 i wouldnt really mind

So long as they are not tickets issued by the city of Toronto. Private security officers/companies do hand out city of Toronto parking tickets.

as long as its issued for the city either by private security or parking enforcement then you have to pay it
if not then you dont have to, it was on the news a long time ago
