first off, no flaming at the n00bness of this question (searched and no result)

i'm trying to replace a brake light bulb on one of the outer taillights of a 02 civic (same as 1.7 EL).. so i took apart a bit of the carpet.. took off 3 nuts and 1 end-clip... but the thing still wont come out.. the top part moves a bit, but it seems the bottom part of the assembly is planted in there.. am i missing something? a screw from the bottom? would i have to take apart the bumper to get at it?? it just doesnt make sense that honda would make it so hard to replace a brake light so please correct me if i've overlooked something

thanks

btw, i've searched for a 1.7EL or 00-04 civic manual without any luck... anyone know where to find one?

Dude, you don't need to take out the taillight to get at the bulb, it's just a twist-out bulb holder once you get the carpet pulled away. Get yourself in there with a flashlight, it should be in the owner's manual.

However if you want to get the taillight assembly out you do have to take off the bumper, there's a clip UNDER the taillight that's bolted to the body.
